On December 18, Projoy Electric successfully held a roadshow with the theme of "WE SWITCH TO SAFETY / GREEN" in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Focusing on the topic of PV fire safety solutions, PROJOY introduced two key technologies that make solar installations safer: Rapid Shutdown and Microinverter.  

As solar power continues to surge in 2024, Malaysia has introduced the Solar for Rakyat Incentive Scheme (SOLARIS). Under this policy, solar energy is considered the most encouraging segment of Malaysia’s renewable energy sector, with an installed capacity of 1100 MW in industrial and commercial application, and 400 MW in residential application.

On the other hand, the safety in PV solar installations is becoming a critical concern. Recently, the Malaysian Fire Department has released a “Fire Safety Guide for Rooftop Solar PV Systems”  standard, which clearly requires that PV systems should have a rapid shutdown function to reduce the risk of shock hazard for emergency responders.

In this seminar, PROJOY brought its featured products such as rapid shutdown, microinverter and optimizer that are tailored to the needs of the Malaysian and Asia-Pacific PV markets.

PROJOY rapid shutdown devices can quickly cut off the power supply in an emergency to ensure the safety of the PV system. Especially, the DC24V type panel-level rapid shutdown (PEFS-PL series) is connected in series with the photovoltaic panel to put each panel in an open circuit state. In an emergency, it can be shut down by control box or AC switch. The DC power between each panel can be cut off within 1 second, providing a safe rescue environment for firefighters. In addition, the string-level rapid shutdown (PEFS-EL series) is suitable for power station scenarios with strict cost control. It has a built-in high-precision temperature sensor that can automatically cut off the power supply when the temperature exceeds 70 degrees Celsius to ensure a stable operation of the PV system.
