Italy is one of the leading solar electricity consuming countries in the world. According to a report by SolarPower Europe, in Italy, solar PV's cumulative capacity reached 22.59 GW in 2021. The country plans to increase the share of renewable energy to 55% of its power generation by 2030 and reach a solar capacity of 52 GW. Hence, with supportive government policies and efforts, the solar PV segment is expected to dominate the market in the coming years, providing ample opportunities for market players in the future. 

On the other hand, according to a survey of the National Fire Brigade (Italy), around 1600 fire-related accidents have occurred in the nearly 560,000PV plants currently installed in Italy. Fire safety issues must be addressed.
