RCBO vs MCB vs RCCB: What Is the Difference?
MCB, RCCB, and RCBO are all used for circuit protection, but they protect against different electrical faults.
| Device | Overload Protection | Short-Circuit Protection | Residual Current Protection |
| MCB | Yes | Yes | No |
| RCCB | No | No | Yes |
| RCBO | Yes | Yes | Yes |
MCB protects against overload and short circuits.
RCCB protects against residual current faults.
RCBO combines overload, short-circuit, and residual current protection in one device.
For installations that need both overcurrent and residual current protection, an RCBO can reduce the number of separate protective devices required.
Residual Current Operated Circuit Breaker Applications
The PROJOY RCBO breaker is designed for residential, commercial, and industrial low-voltage distribution systems. It combines residual current, overload, and short-circuit protection in one compact device.
|
Residential Circuit Protection
Used in residential distribution boards to protect lighting, socket, and appliance circuits against residual current, overload, and short circuits.
|
Commercial Electrical Systems
The RCBO circuit breaker is suitable for offices, shops, hotels, and other commercial distribution systems.
|
|
Industrial Branch Circuits
